Izzy Kempson

Hi there! My name is Izzy, and I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in May 2024. There I studied public policy and advertising/public relations at the Hussman School of Journalism and Media. With this degree, I hope to combine my interests to work in political communications.

While I was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina, I am lucky to have grown up adventuring in the Appalachian Mountains of Western NC. This formed my love of white water kayaking, hiking, running, and skiing. After graduating, I spent a year living and working in Jackson, WY to further explore these passions before settling down on the east coast.

Throughout my UNC education, I have honed my skills and become a strong writer, copy editor, and communicator. In my service-learning courses, I have created various media pieces for non-profits, including the Hussman School’s ABIDE Committee and Coastal Carolina Riverwatch.
